Manuel de Falla and the Music of Faith

March 14-15, 2006
Virginia Theological Consortium
The Cosmos Club
Alexandria, VA – Washington, DC

The centerpiece of this program is Manuel de Falla’s late Concerto, which culminates in a religious slow movement that Ravel called one of the twentieth century’s great chamber-music compositions. In performing the de Falla concerto, PostClassical Ensemble explores the sources of de Falla’s inspiration: the worlds of Spanish religious music, and of the harpsichord masters Scarlatti and Soler.
